Today a friend asked me what setting I write under. I thought and said, “I dunno, usually with a blanket over my head or under my bed with coffee or something.” He responded with, “Do you drink while doing it?” “Well, does that make it easier or what?” “Duh!” So we drove to Wal-Mart and bought lots of beer. Guess what? It’s 4 a.m. and I’ve found drinking while writing does remarkable things! Am I crazy for drinking by myself with some psychedelic 13th Floor Elevator’s playing while writing prose? Naaaaa.
