TV marathons: Be grateful you have them
This summer I moved into a new house where my roommate and I have no cable. So, in other words we have been eternally damned by the spawn of the cable man. Okay, it’s really not bad. IT’S TERRIBLE! I’M IN HELLLL! The hardest part is when you have nothing to do and you just feel like watching re-runs of America’s Next Top Model over-and-over again. I am currently living a...
Today
Today was long and whatever. But all day the stupid voice inside my head was telling me, “Amanda, why haven’t you ran since last week. It’s freakin’ Thursday. Those calories from the entire bag of chips and salsa you ate yesterday ain’t gonna lose themselves. If you wanna drink wine like a drunk everyday you better get back to running. Do it. Jiggly tummy....

Some thoughts that need aerating.
I have a whole bottle of wine that needs to be finished. NOW.
I really feel like playing video games, but they require so much effort. Reading is much more satisfying anyway.
I love my new job. Guys, I really really love it.
Candles smell so damn good.
I have a goodreads account. Last.fm for books? Helll yeah. Everyone should get one.
My main purpose of college was to get some sort of...

Today a friend asked me what setting I write under. I thought and said, “I dunno, usually with a blanket over my head or under my bed with coffee or something.” He responded with, “Do you drink while doing it?” “Well, does that make it easier or what?” “Duh!” So we drove to Wal-Mart and bought lots of beer. Guess what? It’s 4 a.m. and...
I don't need a boyfriend, I need concert tickets.
THERE IS A JEZUZ!
PEOPLE! After around 23472 hours of straight computer zombie-like-coffee-twitching-MADNESSS, I’m finally done with my new portfolio! I’m hungry. I look like Aunt Jemima today. But what days don’t I?
“I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me… but it’s hard to stay mad, when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst… And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude...

In no particular order
1. NETFLIX. I only have instant play back where I live, thanks to an undisclosed name who will never know I actually have their password.
2. FOOD that’s crazy delicious. Talkin’ ‘bout Mexicaaan food!
3. MY GRANDPARENTS HOUSE! I go nearly everyday to eat, take a nap, then watch Ghost Adventures ‘til I have to go home.
4. A HUGE BED. I can...

I know everyone is going crazy about the new Radiohead album coming out this Saturday, but waking up at 7 this morning and hearing the news has put me in an achey trance all morning. I know that’s dramatic, but I’m a performer and dramatics are integral. I even called my mom excited about my pre-order purchase then apologized for spending money I don’t have.
… I need a...

I wish Karl’s blog were a food source, in which I could be nourished with witty language and sound pinky-in-the-air worthy at all times.

The Fall
Did you know Gorillaz made a new album, The Fall, not even a year after Plastic Beach? It came out on Christmas and is not too shabby. What’s amazing is the electronic album was made entirely while on tour on their iPad! Apple marketing gimmick? Who knows, but what an amazing endeavor to accomplish so shortly after finishing their album. Cheers to Gorillaz and their musical abilities. I give...

I actually enjoy most music lists Spin releases, but this is just embarrassing. Hopefully their 2010 list will be better.

Today, just right now, I opened my fridge to get a bottle of water. Nestle water to be exact. I opened the bottle and started drinking. While this fluid was running through me I realized how thirsty I really was. It was mind-shattering how thirsty I became. I hadn’t felt any of that until I was fed. I sat down, kept drinking and tried to be philosophical with my liquid-y revelation. Not much...
